[Word] Word 2003: Footer Area missing entirely in Word doc. - why?

Bonnie, have you managed to change how you are viewing this document. Hover 
the mouse between the bottom of one page and the top of another. double 
click. This will expand and show headers and footers areas.

Hope that that is the problem and not something exotic :)

Thanks for responding but there is no "white space" in this document, that 
and the margins and page setup were the first options I checked.  It is 
really odd whatever it is.
